Learn About Family Troop 207
Our Mission
Family Troop 207 exists to provide a quality Scouting America program for boys and girls ages 10–17 in the Hastings community. Our mission is to develop young people into responsible, confident, and ethical leaders through outdoor adventure, service to others, leadership opportunities, and character development.
As a troop chartered by First Baptist Church of Hastings, we are committed to providing a safe, positive, and Christ-centered environment where Scouts can grow physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. We strive to conduct our program in a manner that reflects the beliefs and values of our chartered organization while welcoming families who are seeking a Scouting program grounded in strong character and servant leadership.
At Troop 207, Scouting is much more than earning merit badges or advancing in rank. It is about learning life skills, building lasting friendships, serving the community, and developing leaders who are prepared to make a positive difference wherever they go.
Our Scouts enjoy a year-round outdoor program that includes monthly campouts, hiking, backpacking, cooking, pioneering, aquatics, community service projects, leadership training, high-adventure opportunities, and summer camp. Through these experiences, Scouts gain confidence, learn teamwork, solve problems, and discover abilities they never knew they had.
Family Troop 207 follows the proven methods of Scouting America by encouraging youth leadership through the patrol method. Scouts are given real responsibility, make decisions, plan activities, and learn by doing while being guided by trained adult leaders who mentor and support their growth.
Whether a Scout joins with years of outdoor experience or is trying camping for the very first time, every youth is encouraged to learn, grow, lead, and live by the values expressed in the Scout Oath and Scout Law.
We are proud to serve the families of Hastings and the surrounding communities, and we invite you to come visit a meeting and discover how Family Troop 207 can become part of your family's journey.
